How it all started...
We’re a family business and we take pride in our Sheppey roots and in our connection with our community. In fact we’ve been trading in Sheerness for 30 years, through four generations of the same family.
We started as WRG Pitney & Co. selling camping gas for the many holiday sites around the island, and industrial gases for welding – thereby firmly embedding ourselves in the double life of Sheppey as a holiday resort and manufacturing centre!
Balloonatic grew out of the industrial gas side of the business. One day, someone asked for helium, then asked if we stocked balloons to go with it. We didn’t but since we like to make our customers happy we found some for them.
We started with a few boxes balloons in a corner of the shop. Now balloons, party decorations and tableware, together with everything we need to create beautiful balloon displays fills over half of our shop in Russell Street.
We don’t stand still either.
Balloons generally mean there’s something to celebrate, so over the years we’ve branched out to cover almost everything you need to make your party venue look amazing with bunting, chair covers and sashes, table linens as well as balloon centrepieces, arches and pillars, and the service to go with them.
